restorative yoga

Lisa Sandquist

Lisa Sandquist has been practicing yoga since 1997. She completed a hatha yoga teacher training course in 2002 and another in 2005.  In 2004, she left a corporate job in national technology sales and began teaching yoga full time.  She has been most influenced by Judith Hanson Lasater but has also gained insight from other teachers in the hatha, Iyengar, and Anusara traditions.  Lisa specializes in restorative yoga and is a certified Advanced Relax and Renew® teacher.

Lisa is interested in encouraging her students to integrate attention, ease, and compassion into their yoga practice and their lives.

In 2005 she began apprenticing in a therapeutic yoga class for those with chronic pain, injuries, and post-operative conditions. She also has experience working with people suffering the effects of stress as she teaches yoga to members of the Chicago Board of Trade. Lisa regularly volunteers for a yoga class for those with developmental, physical, emotional disabilities and/or mental illness.

Lisa studied art history at Northwestern and the Sorbonne and has traveled extensively throughout the world. In addition to practicing yoga, she enjoys learning languages and is studying the Asian “canon” at the University of Chicago.
